Privacy Policy

VISAPrep (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates visaprep.net. This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

1a. Information you do NOT need to provide

VISAPrep does not require you to create an account, register, or submit your name or email address to use any feature of this site, including all free tools and PDF/DOCX downloads.

1b. Tool inputs stored locally

Our interactive tools (Visa Checklist Generator, Cover Letter Generator, etc.) save your inputs using your browser's localStorage. This data is stored only on your own device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

1c. Analytics data (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

VISAPrep runs no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no analytics tag of its own. Measurement comes from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is enabled in our Cloudflare settings rather than added to these pages: Cloudflare inserts static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js into the response at its own network edge. It collects:

  • Pages visited and timing figures
  • Approximate geographic location (country level)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Referring website

Cloudflare states that this measurement stores no cookie and no identifier in your browser. The data is aggregated and we cannot use it to identify you. Any content blocker stops the beacon, and nothing on this site stops working when you block it. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

1d. Fonts and other third-party requests

Page fonts are requested from fonts.googleapis.com, so loading a page discloses your IP address and browser details to Google, as any font host would receive. No other third-party server is contacted while you read the site.

1e. Advertising

This site currently displays no advertising and runs no advertising network. If that changes, this page will name the network and describe what it collects before any advertisement runs. Affiliate links, which are a different thing, are covered in Section 2.

2. Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links to third-party services (including Wise, SafetyWing, and NordVPN). If you click these links and make a purchase or sign up, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. All affiliate links are marked with rel="nofollow sponsored".

When you click an affiliate link, the third party may set their own cookies to track the referral. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

3. Cookies

VISAPrep sets no cookies of its own, and no analytics or advertising cookie is set on this site. The cookies you may encounter are:

  • Cloudflare — __cf_bm and similar, used to tell browsers from bots. VISAPrep does not set it, read it, or receive anything from it.
  • Affiliate networks — referral tracking, set only if and when you click an affiliate link and land on their site.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking cookies may affect the functionality of third-party services embedded on the site.

4. Your rights

GDPR (EEA and UK residents)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority

Because we collect no personal data directly (no accounts, no forms), we hold nothing to export, correct or erase. The data that may relate to you is the aggregated measurement described in Section 1c and the ordinary request logs kept by Cloudflare, both held by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy, and neither is tied to an identifier we could look you up by.

CCPA (California residents)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. VISAPrep does not sell personal information. For what measurement runs and how to block it, see Section 1c above.

5. Data retention

We do not store personal data on our servers. The aggregated measurement described in Section 1c is retained by Cloudflare under its own retention terms; we hold no copy of it. localStorage data on your device has no expiry and persists until you clear your browser data.

6. Children's privacy

VISAPrep is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
